“The Summer School on Gender Economics and Society was a very good experience and it was very well constructed. They say the “devil is in the details” and you surely paid a great attention to the details” (Laura Martinez Alvaro, participant to the 2016 edition)

“A true melting pot of opinions and different – never predictable – points of view about the topics discussed all along the different sessions” (Giovanna Guzzetti, journalist and auditor at the 2016 edition) – Read the full comment

There is now a widespread recognition of the importance of gender strategies in promoting growth and development and in improving welfare systems. This is reflected in the increasing importance both of gender-based programs aimed at strengthening women’s participation in economic life, in politics and in institutions, and in the progress of theoretical analysis as well as of indicators for monitoring and evaluating these programs.
The course focused on the gender dimensions of the economy and their different impacts on society, through an interdisciplinary approach. The school provided an intensive, in-depth look on the linkages between gender, economics and social policies.

The School is organized by the University of Turin, the Polytechnic of Turin, CeRP-Collegio Carlo Alberto, CHILD-Collegio Carlo Alberto, ITCILO. The program is addressed to Master’s and PhD students in economics, sociology, politics, demography, management engineering and related disciplines, from both European and non-European countries.

Financial support by Amundi Italy and Unicredit & Universities Foundation is gratefully acknowledged.
