Project Syndicate has just published Elsa Fornero’s commentary “The Right Recipe for Reforming Pensions”. In this article, Elsa Fornero stresses the importance of financial education for the acceptance of (economic) reforms. As a case in point, she argues that clarity and completeness in official information, as well financial literacy and specific basic pension knowledge make it possible for workers to fully understand this information and represent preconditions that considerably increase the social acceptance, and thus the probability of success, of pension reforms.
